Angels Oracle (Doreen Virtue)

Doreen Virtue, an American author and speaker, developed a whole range of oracles around communication with angels starting in the 1990s. Her Angels Oracle is part of the burgeoning American New Age movement. She draws on Christian angelology and modern esoteric influences to create an accessible, positive, and deliberately non-threatening system: no 'negative' cards, each card carries a message of hope. These copyrighted decks have been distributed and translated worldwide. Note: since 2017, Doreen Virtue has publicly distanced herself from her esoteric works following a religious conversion. The use relies on a clear and benevolent intention: the consultant centers themselves, formulates their question, and then draws one or more cards. Common spreads are one card (message of the day) or three cards (situation, obstacle, advice). Each card presents a bright image and a short message, developed in the booklet. The reading is intentionally positive: even when facing a challenge, the card offers an encouraging perspective. No prior esoteric knowledge is required.

Renowned for its gentleness and accessibility, it is often recommended during times of anxiety, grief, or questioning, to those seeking benevolent symbolic support. Its positive tone helps to break free from rumination by redirecting attention towards inner resources. Popular among meditation practitioners, it is approached as a tool for personal development and entertainment, with no medical, legal, or financial value.
