Mythic Tarot

The Mythic Tarot was created in 1986 by Juliet Sharman-Burke and Liz Greene, figures in Jungian psychology applied to cartomancy, and illustrated by Tricia Newell. Each major card corresponds to a Greek myth: The Fool becomes Dionysus, The Hermit embodies Cronos, The Wheel of Fortune represents Moira. The minors are carried by the adventures of Hermes, Persephone, Poseidon, and Demeter. This narrative architecture draws inspiration from Carl Gustav Jung's work on the archetypes of the collective unconscious. It consists of 22 majors and 56 minors in four suits of 14 cards. Its uniqueness: each image tells a recognizable mythological episode, making interpretation easier even for beginners.
